Applicants for the Practical Nurse (PN) Program must also apply and be accepted into Heritage University prior to submitting their application to the Nursing Education Department. The Nursing Program at Heritage University has admission requirements above those necessary for general admission to the University. In addition to the prerequisites listed the students must meet all of the legal requirements of the institutions or agencies where clinicals will occur. This includes a Verified Credentials National Background check upon admission and a Washington State Patrol criminal background check each semester. Following is a link to the DSHS Secretary's list of crimes and negative actions for use by ADSA Home and Community Services for Individual Providers and Home Care Agencies, Residential Care Services for Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities & Adult and Family Homes. An American Heart Association BLS/CPR Certification is required for the program. Health insurance is required. Individual student malpractice insurance is required. Verification of all required immunizations is also a requirement.

Applications were revised in February 5, 2014 and re-posted to the Website. Please submit "Official Transcripts" to Heritage University Registrar's Office if you are a transfer student.
Application packets are due: April 17, 2014 by 5:00 pm. If you are not a current Heritage student please apply and have your official transcripts to the Registrar's Office prior to the application deadline.
*Incomplete application packets will not be considered.
